early 107 chassis to late 124 chassis wheel swap?

I've searched and searched to no avail. Now I think I must ask Luke! (At least I did just buy 4 tires from Tire Rack..._

I am trying to find out if I can temporarily use my 124 wheels on my 107 (so I can get the BBS wheels currently on the 107 re-finished).

These are stock 94 E320 sedan 8 hole alloys, 15" w/ 195/65/15s on them. The SL has 15" inch wheels on it now, so it seems the only variable is the wheel offset. Earlier cars (107, 123, etc) had lower offsets than the newer cars (124, 140, 129, etc) but I'm not sure how interchangeable such things are.

I'm having 00 C-class sport 16" wheels mounted on the 124 today, thus freeing up the stock 15-inchers for possible temp use on the SL. Any thoughts? Thanks.

test fitted the 15in AMG wheel on the back, and they worked. Didnt chk the fronts, so can not 100% confirm, but would say 95% they will clear too.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know the offset of those AMG wheels? That is my big question- whether the higher offset 124 wheels will fit. I might need spacers and longer bolts if there is too much difference.

Checked the back of the 124 wheels- 6 1/2 x 15 with an offset of 44. No dice. The 107 will take a 15" wheel with offset under approximately 25.

Just out of curiosity, what's the offset of that AMG wheel?

Anyone have a shabby set of 15" wheels that would bolt up to the 107 w/o spacers and etc?

The 15x7 with 37 offset cleared on the 107? Hmm. Do I remember correctly that you had only tried the rears thus far?

Here are my BBS wheels, that need to be sandblasted and re-finished. I think they are totally worth going through that hassle. I should be able to get new center caps/BBS logos, too. This pic is from when I looked at the car initially, so they are not even close to clean.

I wonder if should just get a set of bundts (as listed on the build sheet) for an original look while the BBS wheels are off-

Now you are stating the obvious! My wheels cleared and fitted on the rears only. You trying a set, so I was giving you some reference.

Save yourself the mental effort, and just go get the Bundt's.

thanks!
