I like the new C32 amg rims and the AMG 220 with bolts. Will either of those fit on my 16v with lowered suspension. I am interested in a more comfortable ride as opposed to supreme handling. With the lowering the ride is much more choppier.

The AMG Twin 5-spoke C32 AMG wheels in 17x7.5 will fit your 190E. I have a 93 190E 2.6, lowered almost 2" in the front, with fenders rolled, and have no rubbing with 215/50/16s. If you are looking for a nice ride, the 17" will not help any! I think its a pain going from 15" to 16", even though I don't care much about ride, I am thinking about going another plus one or two.

However, if you want a 17" upgrade, their are a few tires that give a smooth ride, though bumps and road irregularities wil be quiet similar.

I would say fenders rolled and 215/40/17 should work fine.

I am thinking of using 225/35/18s Toyo PROXES FZ4 with 18x8ET35" wheels.

What does it mean to roll the fenders? Pls speak in layman terms.

Inside the front/rear of your fender wells are 1/2" lips that will rub when going with larger wheel/tire sizes.

In my case, 17x7,5 AMG's w/215/45/17 tires rub really bad, rolling the finder lips was no cure, had to cut the fender lips out completely. Still have some rubbing problems, 215/40/17 are only marginally smaller than the 215/40/17. You may want to consider a 205/40/17 which is 1" shorter and a bit narrower, this might work better for you.

BTW, my 190 is lowered with Bilsteins and Eibachs.

Oh, I forgot, you have a 16 valve, don't those have some sort of fender extension for running with wider wheels/tires direct from MB? If that is the case, you most likely will not expereince the rubbing issues that us NON 16v owners are running into
