Just bought a set of Chinese tires

I'll keep the board posted on how they hold up. I know when it comes to tires, not to skimp but these were a good buy and I needed 4 at the time. They are Wanli 215/55-16 for my 210. I wanted an aggressive tread with decent traction and wear ratings. They were about $300 delivered to the house. A indy down the street installs and computer balances them for $10/wheel for me. So less than $350 installed.

I wore out 3 sets of Chinese tires in 3 years. They either bounce like hell, wear to one side,or plain disslove.I don't China knows how to vulcanize rubber, their shoe even melt in water. Now I run Douglas or Firestone Winterforce all year.3 years on my winterforce's.

Thanks for the info. I may wear them out in a year as I will drive 25K+ this year. I do hope I don't have the other problems though.

$350 for Chinese tires

$450 for Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S.

Doesn't seem like much of a decision.........but, that's just me.

If I drove 25K per year, I probably would have gone with the Hydroedge again, for the same price.

I am looking at a set of chinese tires for my W126.

I am looking at 215/55-16s, and can get all 4 for $200 mounted and balanced.

I run Michelin PS2s on the W124, and its a great tire. Just planning on doing alot of non spirited driving in my W126, and want something cheap that i can put miles on...

How many miles do you expect out of these tires?

How many miles will you put on the vehicle in the next 6 years?

Justin, check the load rating on the Chinese tires you are considering and compare it to a Michelin tire because a W126 is a heavy car.

X2 on that. I found a pair of pirelli snow tires 205/70/14 online and almost bought them but did a little research and found out they were designed for Mini coopers, Miatas, etc. I dont know what the load rating is but they cant be good for my 85SD. Its gotta be the weight of 2 Minis I'm thinking.

Junkyards you can find tires attached to a bunt rim for $42. walk out,new tires is the only ones Ill pull .If Ive got too many bunts hanging around with old tires Ill scrap them for $13 a piece.I think a tire core you pay $24 so its worth just to buy the whole wheel. If you go have it mounted and balanced your out another $15.I see some ronals once in a while, just missed a set last week.
