cut spring or lowering springs?
I just cut my stock spring to make my 124 look lowered since I had the 18's amg monoblock.ive notice that the ride was not at all bad.i was wondering if will I be able to align the suspension still with the cut springs.or should I go for lowering springs? cause I've heard that the ride gets stiffer with lowering spring.if in any case I get the lowering spring.which brand would make my car look more lowered for an aggressive look?

IMHO, you only cut your springs when aftermarket performance springs are not available from any company for your particular car. That is what car customizers did back in the "good old days" when performance springs were not available or made for your car. For Mercedes you purchase Sportline or Aftermarket springs and change the springs pads to the smallest size.
Anyone wanna buy a E430 so I can buy a E55? www.statusimports.com/e430.html

aftermarket springs are a much better solution because they are progressive rate springs that are not as likely to upset the vehicles handling. Cutting springs to make them shorter adversely affects the spring rate and can allow the car to bottom out the suspension rather easily which can cause damage.
Luke how much for the E430 ?

Luke, the web page ad list my car for $37,500. If you are not interested in the aftermarket wheels it is $36,500. See pictures at:

Luke is right-on. Springs and rates are engineered to a particular vehicle's suspension dynamics/geometry. Cut the spring and you change the spring rate and, ultimately, the performance (handling, safety, etc). I'd purchase new springs designed for my particular vehicle (MHO).

Just throwing in my own $0.02...
Cutting springs is downright dangerous, and is done at your peril. If you are desperate to lower your car and cannot afford the proper springs, you're driving down the wrong road with owning a Mercedes-Benz. Go buy a Honda and chop it up all you like.
