Question (re: backordered tire) for Mr. Luke

Hi, Luke.

I've been contemplating tires for a while. Mine still have good life left -- not even to wear bars -- but I'd like to replace them a little early before the rainy season, which will come along in another 6-8 weeks. No reason to take a chance over a few hundred bucks, right?

After bouncing all over the map I finally settled on one that is now, of course, out of stock at TR. It's the Continental ProContact LRR EcoPlus, 225-50R17. (I realize it's only T rated, but in reality when I'm driving it's never even going to see triple digits anyway.)

They're showing on backorder and as I said I'm not in any hurry, so I just thought I'd inquire if you (ahem) "can know" an estimate of when they are due in stock to the Nevada warehouse.

Thanks!

Hi, Luke. I remember when we were both mods over at BW.

I hadn't heard of the tires Can't Know is asking about; I was contemplating the new DWS tires for my next replacements.

That said, would you have any information about how the DWS tire compares to this ecoplus LRR tire as regards fuel economy? If they're pretty close I think the DWS may perhaps be a better choice.

Thanks,
Greg

The DWS offers a good deal more performance and does not offer the same low rolling resistance as the ProContact LRR EcoPlus
