When I get off work. My friend is going to take them in to get 215/40 17 put on. When I bought them they have 225 55 17 they rub with weight in the car. The guy told me they work for Mercedes said will fit. He was wrong. I miss read the offset thought it was 30 but its et20. I can't waste more money for tires if they wont fit.

Fit is almost a side issue. Why do you want a wheel almost 1.25" smaller in diameter than original? I imagine looks are a big part of the switch and it's going to look silly.

There's no way 225/55-17 will fit without rubbing. That's 1.75" larger in diameter!

Well I wanted 225/45/17 with an offset of 30. There 17 8inches wide amg says its a good fitement. But et20 stick out way far. I was thinking a 40 will give me enough space so it wont hit the upper fender.
Any thought what the difference between et30 and et20.

A good fitment for WHAT?

You want to run a 20 offset on a car that came with 37?

Not without adapters.

Do they make adapters to increase negative offset? What do those look like?

Yeah, my bad. I was thinking of the setup in reverse.
