Mileage Milestone of Sorts

I replaced the Michelin Primacy tires @ 79,200 miles, on the '99 E300TD today.

They were well worn, but not close to the wear strips. Michelin tires back on. The ride is smooth once again.

Hope I get the same service.

More specific ID on tires, please -- lots of different kinds of "Michelin Primacy." For example, I have Primacy HP (sticky but not particularly long wearing, not M+S rated) on the '95 and Primacy MCV4 (not so sticky, longer tread life, M+S rated) on the '87.

Jeremy,

Sorry for the omission, I had & have the Michelin MXV4 tires. I am not a performace kinda guy, only looking for long tread wear.

I was quite surprised when I was advised they are a 60,000 mile tire.

Thanks, Gary -- 80,000 miles with tread remaining is great. You must be a gentle driver -- how many years to accumulate all those miles? (Post your info in the wheel and tire forum too.)

Whoops !!

Sorry for posting in incorrect area, I drive for work about 37,000 per year. I drive 70 mph on highways, whieh represent 58 miles out of a 65 mile commute ( each way ).

I drive like Driving Miss Lazy, so corners, on ramps, etc. do not put a hurt on my tires.

Thats impressive. I have never gotten close to that mileage but I usually don't own a car that long or the tires rot due to age.

How long they last depends on how aggressive you are as a driver, how well you maintain your car, and what sort of roads you drive on.

You obviously do a lot of motorway driving. That helps. You're driving sedately if you're just doing 70 or so.

All that helps.

Good on ya.
