W126 300SD - finally upgrading to 15" rims - what size tire?

Finally got my hands on some 7" x 15" 15 hole rims for the wheel upgrade on my '84 300SD. Now, which would be the preferred tire size that is recommended for these 7Jx15H2 et25 rims?
I've read that 205/65R15 was OEM size on these rims. Also read that some prefer a wider 215/60R15 on this rim. Any preference? Specific brand? For the record, about half of my driving is in and out of the mountains, chip sealed hilly winding slow driving mountain roads, the other half is highway driving. I've experienced a lot of inner tire wear on the front end...
Cheers!

apologies

Sincere apologies for taking the risk of starting a tire thread, which is likely only second to oil threads in terms of contention. Kudos to all who have shown great restraint here by not commenting
However, the new (used) rims are arriving today and I plan on getting new rubber early next week, so if anyone does have experience and preference on tire size and brand for 7 x 15 rims on a 126, it would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance, and happy motoring.

205/65/15 is stock on the second generation W126 and it performs well.

IMHO 215/65/15 fits the wheel well much better and looks proper for the vehicle.

There is no discernible performance difference between them. The larger tire will provide more longevity.

Michelin is always preferred but I've had some acceptable results from Yokohamas.

knowing that the original 195/70-14 had an overall diameter of 24.7" the best 15" sizes would be:

205/60-15 = 24.7
205/65-15 = 25.5
215/60-15 = 25.2

Since you are upgrading already I would suggest you look into a 16" upgrade with a 225/55-16 tire size. I have seen many people who have that set up on w126 cars and it not only looks great it significantly improves the drive.
