w116 300sd Bundts with 215 70 14 Tires ?

I own a w116 1979 300sd and currently driving on 215 75 14 tires with 14 inch Alloy Bundts.

Can use a 215 70 14 tire with my bundts?

Will a lower profile (70) tire compromise handling or steering on a w116?

How much of a handling difference is there between a 215 75 14 and a 215 70 14?

Any advice is greatly appreciated

Go to DiscoutTire.com's website and click on the Plus Size Tires tab and you can enter the numbers you have above under the compare two tires tab. You'll find the 5mm difference between the 75 and 70's is less than 1/2 an inch. I run 195/60/15's on one of my cars instead of the standard 195/65/15's and that big V8 handles just fine. < 1/2 an inch shouldn't make a difference on your 14 inch bundts.

I like the look of a lower profile tire on any size rim, not too low but just enough to make the tire look right on the rim and car. I do not like tall tires, tall tires make cars look like my truck.

My w126 drives with a 205/65/15, I like the look.

Still trying to find a good deal on some nice 15 inch ATS or Fuchs bundt rims.
Dealer wants too much money.

I saw some nice ATS 15 inch Bundts on EBAY but the guy won't ship from Lithuania. The lip portion down to the bottom of the bundts appeared to be polished or chromed. Nice look
