'98 Mercedes C230 (W202) - Coilovers or Springs??
Hello all.. I'm looking for a good set of coilovers for a Mercedes W202 C230.. Anybody know where I can find either a used set in good condition or a new set for a decent price.. I'm trying to get at least a 1.5"-2" drop in back and a 2.5"-3" drop in front.. Do you think I can accomplish that with just a set of lowering springs??.. I mean, coilovers would be my ultimate goal, but I'm strapped on cash until next tax season.. Had to pay bills and only have $600 leftover, so if I could close my wheel gaps (especially the front) with just a set of springs, that would be optimal for me at this time.. Thoughts??
This picture doesn't do the front wheel gap justice since its parked in my slanted driveway, pushing weight to the front of the car, closing the gap by about 1". The other pic is a photoshopped to what I'd like my stance to be on this car... Well, maybe not quite that low, but definitely no gaps Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Given the option, springs every time. The springs put the weight of the car onto the frame rails with a perch made for that purpose. Coilovers put the weight of the car onto the top of the inner fenders.
