CLK 320 (7.5Jx16 ET46) wheels on W124 E300D.

I have W124, E300D and want to upgrade to 16" wheels. There is a set presumably from a CLK 320, which is 7.5Jx16 ET46 I would like to buy.

The resource I'm using is attached on the bottom. And it looks like the recommended offset for the 7.5Jx16 is ET42. Does anyone know if the 4mm offset difference would be significant or within safe margin?

Thanks in advance!

tfb:

Using the chart supplied, we can see that in 15" & 16" wheels the OEM/MB ETs range from 49 to 34, and from AMG down to 25. The presumption would be that within that range steering and scrub are acceptable. The consideration that remains is physical clearance in the wheel well, and to the steering arm/tie rod end.

I have a set of CLK lightweight 16x7 et37 wheels that work great on a w124. Wheels weight 13lbs each and would use a 205/55/16 tire. PM me for any specifics.

Over the years, I've installed 4 sets of 1st gen CLK wheels on various W124 cars, all inline sixes, or 5 cyl diesel.

Never a problem, the CLK spec 205/55/16 size is the same od as the 195/65/15 oe size for W124.
