1990 300CE offset ?

I need to know the right offset for a 1990 300CE with 15 inch wheels I was trying to fit a set of wheels from an older E class but the front wheels hit the caliper

Depends on the width of the wheel - there were 6.5 and 7 inch widths

Most common is probably the 7 inch width in the US (bigger engines == wider wheels!) but even then there were two offsets 41 and 42

Hope this helps enough

If you've already got the wheels just fit them and see what you think. Spacers might not be necessary (not always legal in all parts of the world - I assume you can use them where you are)

The four piston caliper on the coupe is huge, relative to the older setup. I bought a sweet set of 17" monoblok knockoffs with intent of putting 320mm brakes under them. Damned things didn't even clear the stock calipers. Had to grind them more than a little to get the wheels on without spacers. They do look sick, though.
