The non-cognoscenti among us are at a disadvantage. Type 8?
Even if for ten words, a picture is of value.

Generally referred to as an "8-hole" wheel.
The 85 chassis (W126) will operate acceptably with ETs (offset) of 25, better with 20-21.
That 8-hole wheel will probably have an ET in the high 40s. Hence it will require a spacer of 25-28 mm.
Inquire of the wheel vendor as to the actual ET, and whether it uses 12mm or 14mm bolts. The 126 uses 12mm.

The term " Type 8" reminded me of the /8 cars made in the late 60s, called the " Stricht 8" in Germany.

Thanks for enhancing the self-esteem of the non-cognoscenti! Grazie!

I had a set of aftermarket 15 inch, 8 hole wheels (sim to late W124) and they were 25mm offset to fit the W126 / W123 chassis.

Came from Tire Rack, I recall.

Keep scrubbing; the ET is there also. 6 1/2 x 15 wheels had ETs of 48 or 49.

Ergo, a spacer 23-24 mm thick. Then the question of bolt length can be addressed.
