Do the alloy steel looking wheels take different clips for the hubcaps?

Do the alloy steel looking wheels take different clips for the hubcaps? Tried fitting hub caps earlier today to the lightweight alloy wheels that look like steel wheels. Seemed like the hubcap bracket was not sized for these type of wheels. Any advice?

Yes. To get a good fit the clips on the wheel cover must match the wheel. IIRC the alloy wheel has a thicker rim because aluminum is not as strong as steel, so if you put those on a steel rim the wheel cover will fall right off.

They are tough to get on an alloy rim if they are the steel rim clips. I am not sure if they will stay on either. The correct clips for the aluminum "steelie" look have rubber where they touch the rim.
