I know they are the same bolt pattern (audi a4's at least) and the only difference is that the audi ones have to have different bolts and hub centeric stuff, but from what I understand you can just take some wheels from a a4 and use them on a benz. Is this right? Looking at getting some 17 inch rims of a a4, he is using the hubcentric and longer bolts now but I guess you don't need them for my car (c class). Any help appreciated. Also looking for some tires for this setup, so if anyone has some 17's, let me know.
thanks
cavan

No, you can't just swap wheels from one to the other . The important factor (other than offset for your specific vehicle, which I'm sure you've already checked) is the centerbore. When you say,"he is using the hubcentric and longer bolts" I an guessing that you mean he is using hubcentric rings (this is good) or spacers (this is bad, stay away from a setup that uses spacers). This means the centerbore of his wheel is BIGGER than it needs to be. He only needs a 57.0mm centerbore while you need a 66.6mm one. Simply check the centerbore and if it's bigger than 66.6 you may want to consider running rings too. I run Audi wheels on my Benz but I had to have the centerbores machined which is also an option for you if the bores on your friends wheels are too small. Other than that, it should be a strait swap.
