Longer Lug Bolts?

I bought SLK rims for my 560SEC. I have to put 5mm spacers on the rear and 10 mm spacers on the front to make the wheels fit without rolling the fenders. Will I need long lug bolts than the stock lug bolts on my 560SEC?

There are a number of dangerous combinations possible.

Generally, as long as the bolt diameter and thread pitch are ok for the chassis, you need to match the bolt length to the WHEELS (and spacers, unless they're the really thick kind that bolt to the hub first and are threaded for the wheel bolts), because the critical dimension is how far the threads project from the back mounting face of the wheel (including spacers) to provide enough turns of thread to mount securely to the hub without sticking out so far that they tear up the parking brake mechanism (there is not a lot of room for error here) on the rear or the bolts attaching the steering arm to the hub on the front. On most models, the stock amount of projection is 17 - 20 mm.

In ancient times, the hot rodders' rule of the thumb when swapping wheels was that the length of threads being engaged should be at least equal to the diameter of the bolt, but note that Mercedes hubs generally have some freebore before the threads begin, which means a bit longer bolt is needed to secure adequately.

And don't forget that the bolt head CONTOUR must also match the wheels, whether tapered, ball, or flat style.
