Will the 7 inch wide sportline rims that wear the 205 60 15s fit on an E420 without modification? Regular rims on the E420 are 6.5 inches wide and wear 195 65 15 tires. I will be buying a new set of rims in the spring along with new summer tires. I have been toying with the idea of 16 inch rims, but I think the wider rims might work nicely too, if they'll fit. Any suggestions on performance summer tires for this car? Wet traction is a must.

The best combo I ever felt on a 400E with 15" wheels was the exact one you are thinking about with 215/60/15 tires.
