W140 Coupe

Hi All,

I would like to get some rims and tires for my W140 coupe. Could anyone give me their input for the size and suggestions for the type of rims. I like the rims to reflect style yet not sacrifice too much comfort and ride quality. I was thinking 19's, what do you all think?

Hi David,

Just bought a W140 98 S600 coupe and it has 19" chromed Lorinser LM5 rims on them with 245/40/19 up front and 275/35/19 in the rear. The previous owner put these on and they look awesome! With stock height and factory springs, these rims and tires make the car look lowered. I run anbout 38 psi and the cars runs very smooth with no rubbing. It has the cool look of one finger width between the top of tire and the wheelwell opening. only thing is that the tire wheel combo is quite heavy (60 lbs.) and the wheels sometime feel like they chatter from side to side because they are so wide. Otherwise, it is lots of fun to drive a coupe that looks a bit radical. So have fun looking for your 19 " rims.
