opinions needed on wheels for w126

Hey everyone!

In the near future when all my suspension demons are exorcised, I'm going to upgrade the tires and wheels on my SD. I'm looking for an approximate 70/30 balance between handling and comfort respectively. Just want to learn from other's experiences.

Thanks mucho

If you're looking for more handling than comfort, I'd say go for 17s.

Alon...I agree...I've actually been looking for some for my car, but I checked the Tire Rack, all they had was 18s. Do you know where 17s can be found? Would they be genuine or replicas?

thats a good question....

I dunno where you could find some in 17's. perhaps pat @ potomac german auto can help or maybe omegabenz can help. he seems to have some good luck finding hard to find AMG wheels.

I have replica 17in Monoblock II's on my car.

I live in New Zealand and I had no problems getting a set locally.

Matt.

I just bought real AMG 17in Monoblock II's off of eBay for $1600 including shipping and they came with balanced tires already mounted on them. He shipped right away too. If you want the guys name on ebay, I can give it to you. I looked at his feedback and it looks like he sells AMG rims on a regular basis, so he'll probably be putting up some more monoblocks soon.

I have just replaced the set of wheels on the 126 with original AMG from the previous replicas and I can tell you that the road handling feels so much better.

I hope its not pyschological?
