Hi,

My E280(1994, w124) owner's manual claims that OEM (8-hole,alu)wheel size for E280 and E320 is 6.5x15ET44 with 195/65R15 tire and for E420 7x15ET46 with 215/55R16.

If I have understood correctly the E420, E320 and E280 are exactly similar except the engine: Brakes, fenders, etc. are with same MB spare part numbers. So, I assume that OEM wheels and rims of E420 should fit exactly to my E280 also. BUT I have heard different stories and opinions on that. Even all the MB dealers are not sure.

What do you think: do the OEM wheels for E420 (8-hole, 215/55R16, 7x16et46) fit to my E280?

Do they perform well in E280? I think they would be much better than 195/65R15.
