Importing Tire Rack product into Canada - Pls Help
Have any forum members in Canada purchased product from Tire Rack? If so, can you tell me what duties you had to pay? Also, any other issues to be aware of?
I was quoted a 6% duty for AMG wheels made in Germany (I assumed that is where they were made) and imported into Canada from the US. This came from the CCRA (Revenue Canada). Obviously there is also the GST and shipping etc. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Scott |

I just went through this about a month ago.
Paid GST & PST ( Ontario 8% ). No duty, as the rims & tires were considered " Auto parts ". No argument from me, I prefer to play dumb. They didn't ask where my rims ( Borbet - Germany ) were made. Beware !!!!!, if you have any issues warranty ) with the goods, it can be a real PITA, to get stuff back & forth across the border. Btw., cost me $ 60.00, to get the tires re-balanced. Just so you know.

I think it's 6% for wheels made in Europe and 7% for tires made anywhere over seas ... but, I'm not 100% sure about those numbers ....
