Tire selection 300E?
I am looking to get new tires this week end for the 87 300E and have been reading alot about which are the 'best' but would appreciate comments.
My greatest concern is I want a tire that is quiet on dry pavement, But with good traction in rain. I am considering Perelli 4000's but have read some negative things about fast wear. Next, are Dunlops, cant remeber type. The dealer has some FULDA's, which I had not heard of but I have read some positive comments about them. Any comments are appreciated. |

Hi
Just in time for some advice too. I am also currently looking for new tires for my 88 260E. I am currently having 205/60R15 Yokohama AVS ES100. I have used them since Oct 6, 2002, and these tires are wearing off VERY fast. I have only done less than 20,000 km and the tread balance is 2-3 mm. I am quite surprise that the tires with UTQG 280 AA A wear off so fast. I don't drive hard or brake hard. The last tires before Yoko, I was using Firestone SZ50 in the same size, performed much better (dry and wet) than ES100, and last longer at 40,000 km. Any recomendation is welcome. Lim |

the Firehawk SZ50 EP is a GREAT tire andI could not have a better recommendation for a summer perfromance tire with great ride quality ... if you are thinking of an all-season tire I really like the Bridgestone Turanza LS
