Something happened to the wheels?

Well I just got my w126 back from the body shop for a repaint not too long ago and the finish on my wheels was deteriated somehow by eitheir something they put on them or the heat oven where the car goes in. Any brake dust that was on the wheel was pretty much baked. Whatever goes on the wheel now becomes a stain........even rain water!

This never happened before and there is no shine to the wheel anymore. I have yet to approach the body shop but is there anything i can do in the meantime to get the finish back somehow besides repainting them.....which was already done before?

Waxes and polishes were no go.

That is why I put my new wheels after the body shop repainted my car.Somehow the clearcoat on the wheels got damaged by what you suggested. Get an estimate of exactly how much to refinish them and then confront. You might consider a wheel repair shop or a place that powdercoats wheels though, I do not know if they can clearcoat powdercoated wheels. Ask around for more info.

Sounds like they got over spray on the wheels and then used a solvent to clean.
