What is the Pattern (I think 5bolt -112MM)
and What is the offset
on the stock alloys 1987 300E 195 65 R15

Looking to upgrade to 8 Hole alloys from
1996 C280 195 65 R15
Offset ??

The pic below in my signature shows 1998 C230 15" rims on my 1987 300E. I believe the offset on the stock 87 were 6.5"x15ET 49, while the 1998 C230 machine polished 15 inch wheels were 7"X15"ET 37 or 39. (I can look them up tomorrow from the stamp marks on the inside of the rims), but basically the offset calculator at http://toy4two.home.mindspring.com/offset.html says that my wheel track is now about 1.5 inches wider, with the rims sticking out about 1/4" more from the struts than the stock ones. They have the same bolt pattern, and on mine the lug bolts were identical (not always the case, MB uses a lot of different length and shoulder shape bolts!) Look up the marks on the inside of your old rims, and on the C280 rims, plug them into the calculator and see what it says. The pic below should give you an idea of what it will look like.
Here is another angle as well:
