Pirelli P6000 or Bridgestone or Firestone?

Dear All:

I live in a part of the world where tire selection is very poor. I am looking to put 195/60 15's on my 1988 190e 2.3L.

Currently in this tire size all I can find is:

1) P6000 at $60 bucks each installed.

2) Bridgestone (the store could not tell me the style - stupid people) but the price is $150 each.

3) Firestone 550 or FH700 (the person who answered my call did not know) but these are at $125.00 each.

My driving style is not aggresive, unless I am passing someone on back country road.

I just want a comfortable tire.

Any inputs or suggestions?

Thanks,

sorry to hear about the selection availability.

im not a huge pirelli fan but...

it sounds like the B anf F are > double the price, and
they cant tell you the exact model the carry anyway.

you can probably find some reviews of the pirellis at:

this forums sponsor: tirerack.com

the P6000s cant be a terrible product, and $60 installed sounds like a decent deal (but then i know nothing about pricing (or the road conditions) in CA)

for half (or 6/15) the price, you can afford 2 (or almost 3) sets of the pirellis.

Thanks for the input, ThrillBilly.

In fact, yesterday afternoon I went to the local Costco subsidiary here in Guatemala (PriceSmart) and purchased the Pirellis for $59 each balanced and installed.

I did read the other threads beforehand on this tire. It seems that they wear fast and can be a little noisy. But given the price, I decided to give these a shot and see how they hold up and perform. Especially on the back country roads that I sometimes drive on.

At least for now, I like them but that could be because I had a set of Mich. 205/60's on the car that I could no longer stand, too big and I felt the road on every bump! (They were old) And there are a lot here in Guatemala.
