Thumbs up FYI Kumho 716 tires on E Class

FYI, I am original owner of a 1998 E Class. I just replaced the original equipment Michelin MXV4 tires with Kumho 716's (all season ).

The Kumho's have better dry weather, wet weather, and snow
traction than the Michelin's by far. I am an aggresive driver and couldn't be more pleased. ( I inflate 4lbs over recommended )

As a bonus they were $65 each (tire rack). New Michelins $160.

Were your tires $65 delivered?
Michelin has priced themselves out of a lot of people's price range. I recently bought some Nitto's ~ 205-60-15 ~ for $55 (delivered) and can say with all certainty that "I will never buy Michelins again."

$65 x 4 = $260 + $31 shipping = $291

Got them too -
Much better than the 2 sets of Michelin, quieter and possibly better than the Dunlop SP A2 (which only lasted 15kmi).
The best buy out there, by far. And they have a 50kmi warranty!!
Got my set for $68, total, when the prorated the Dunlops that were supposed to still have 70% of their life left.
I just LOVE tires with mileage warranties. . .

Where do you have "mail order" tires mounted?

Please excuse my dumb question, but I've been wondering about this for a long time. Where do you guys have your "mail order" tires mounted and balanced? What type of guarantee does the place you have them mounted give to you?

Thanks

How about KH11, has anyone tried this yet? Thinking of getting them for my 300e.

I Buy from discount tire direct (free shipping and no sales tax in CA)
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/home.jsp
and purchase road hazard warranty good at any America's Tire location at the same time you place the order. You may have them mounted and balanced anywhere. I use Costco for mounting and balancing, unfortunately they try to take care of poor unfortunate people that bought overpriced tires there first, pity!
If you don't have a Costco, Walmart will do similar but I don't know about the quality of their work.

Lee Roy - your math is wrong!

$55 X 4 = $220 Discounttiredirect charges no shipping. Nada.
For Michelins I would have to pay $137 X 4 . I'll let you do the math.

For volosong:

Some internet tire guys will drop ship your tires to a local shop. I think Tire Rack does this. Try their website. Kumhos are excellent tires BTW.

Good luck!

Finally got the KH11 last friday form Tirerack and have them installed. Super quite, these probably are the quietest tires I have ever had. Very happy with it. But I got into an accident this Thursday, smash my right front end. The car is in bodyshop waiting for the insurance adjuster. They probably are going to total it.

About 9 months or so ago I was really strapped for cash and needed tires for my 300E really bad. I bought Kumho AS 795's (I think that's what they were) for $32 each plus delivery. Since I have a tire machine and computer balancer, the rest didn't cost anything.

I only bought them because they were something cheap to keep the car rolling. I have been AMAZED at how good these tires are. They balanced with very little weight and run ABSOLUTELY SMOOTH AS SILK.

Actually I think we all need to stop publicly bragging about them, because the news will get out and their prices will start going up.

Have a great day,
