Do VW wheels interchange?

Over the weekend I saw a VW Vanagon wearing bundt cake wheels. It was kinda shocking. But anyway, it makes me wonder if VW wheels will fit on M-B cars, specifically the 123 series.

Anyone know?

There are a lot of nice VW alloys out there in junkyards that could work well as an upgrade or spare set for our cars.

Many VW's have the same bolt pattern ( 5 x 112 mm ), but the hubcentre is a different size.
If you can get the correct centering rings, you'll be all set.
Be careful with the ET as well.
