WTB: Gas Heckflosse

I've posted this in the cars for sale forum before, but I thought that I'd try to get a refresher one up. LOL. Anyways, I don't want to spend a bunch of money on one. Really, I mainly care about the body. So, I'd take one that doesn't run, and location around NE Indiana is a bonus, but I already have looked into shipping and it shouldn't be too much of a problem to have one shipped. Please let me know if any of you are selling one or know of one for sale. I'd really like a black one, but I'd take any color. Also, needs to be gas, I'd be killed trying to merge onto highways in a 190D fintail. I'd also like one of the 111 ones with the stacked lights.Let me know if you guys see any. You can PM or Email me, makes no difference.
Thanks
David

Try calling Harry Ward. He lives near the western NY/PA border near Erie. Another member of this site is looking at it on Sunday, but if he passes on it... His # is 716.326.7764. Very nice car. Fair price...he's not giving it away, but it's certainly worth what he is asking.
Only one in these here parts for sale....

David,
It is a '63 220S (if memory serves) w111. (Funny how I forgot to mention that... ) Older resto, overall a very nice car, been in storage for more than 8 years. Auto on the tree. Guy is asking $3500, I think. Might be negotiable.

W111 Fs

I drove down to see this car, but decided not to go for it right now, since my son broke his ankle on sat. and he would be doing alot of the work.

The car is in fair (3) condition - 1 being show condition and 5 being part car.

Everything is there including a shop manual
Repainted
Not too much rust, but some around the headlights and the front of the front subframe
Engine runs and seems good
Auto tranny
good headliner
Worn seats
cracked dash
crinkled wood finish

I would say it is restorable

soon...

wdba, that's more than I can afford to spend on one. Thank you though. Hector, I'd like one with a decent body, I'm flexible on the interior, and if it doesn't run, I'll make it run. Now, if it doesn't run and needs brake work, I'll have my work set out for me.
Thanks
David

Lokking for a Fin

I agree tha $3500 may be too much for the one Matt found, but the guy may be willing to go down. He keeps it inside storage.

As far as rust goes - I think that you will find some rust on any 40year+ car. The trick is to find one the has minimal and can be repaired.

I would encourage you to keep looking. The nice thing about a car of that vintage is the simplicity of the design, with no complex electronics or accessories to go bad. In the long run, it will be less expensive to keep in working condition, vs a fully loaded car from the 70's or 80's, where everything has started to fail on the accessories side - like AC, window motors, electronics etc. Those things can make you poor.

A handy guy can deal with most things on a 60's fin. - with a good set of metric wrenches and some good advice from this forum.

soon...
