Gun metal grey, no rust, recent paint, good tires, new plugs, wires, rotor, cap, engine runs great. Needs new radiator and ac condenser, approx. $500 to replace. 165k miles. Interior in very good condition. Located in Corpus Christi, Tx. $1,500 OBO

A friend has a 1985 500SEL in incredibly nice condition which he would like to sell. It is 904 Midnight Blue with Palomino interior. Everything on the car works properly and it is all original, including wheels and radio, a true unmolested example. Heated front/rear seats and reclining rear seats, all the toys, you know. It's had a valve job and we just did all the brakes (both front calipers, new pads, rotors, sensors, wheel bearings, rear pads and rotors, all four new flex hoses), also a major "E" service on top of that. Needless to say, he spent over $3K on that visit with us but the car is tip top. I think he'd like $5K for it but if you ask me, definitely worth it for this car.

Mileage on my friend's 500SEL is just over 200K but do keep in mind that it's had a recent valve job, all new brakes (calipers, pads, rotors, hoses) and a major service to cap that off. We did the work at my shop. I think his bill was a tad over $3,000. He just bought a very nice 300SD so that's why the SEL is for sale.
