FS: 1984 190D 2.2L 5-speed (Grey market)

Located in Chicago, IL. I have a Signal Red with black interior 190D for sale. It has 173,000 miles. My family has owned the vehicle since 1990 and I have FULL maintenance records dating back to then. The stack of receipts is about 1-1/2" thick! Here is what it has:
-Black cloth interior
-Heated seats
-5-speed manual
-Sony CD player
-AMG lip spoiler
-"Old School" Cellular One telephone
-Clear signal markers
These parts are new within 10,000 miles of now:
-KYB shocks and struts
-Tie Rods
-Brake rotors with Mintex performance pads
-Driveshaft w/ support bearing
-REMUS custom exhaust
-S600 grill
-Belt shock absorber
-Front right wheel bearing (misdiagnosis of driveshaft)

I'm selling this car because I just got a 99E300TD. There are a few things to mention about this car:
-Needs a new vaccuum pump
-There is rust by the trunk lock, spot on both front Q.P.
-One jack point has rusted out
Pictures can be found at below

Give me an offer I cannot refuse. Thanks for any inquiries.

Keep us up-to-date on offers. I like your car; wish I had the cash to make a serious offer right now!

My family mechanic (Original owner of the car), said that he will buy it for $2,300. I kind of think this is a low-ball price, but I want to get rid of it. Any counter-offers?

That's probably a pretty decent price considering the rust. They seem to run anywhere from $1000-$3000 depeding on condition. You might find someone willing to pay $2500 (esp. since it's a 5 speed), but it may take a while. If I were you I'd take the $2300 and run.

I wish I could afford one of those... it's a very nice looking car!

Good luck,

Chris

Take your mechanic up on his offer. How is $2,300 for a rusted out 21 year old car a low-ball offer? Practically speaking, the "jack point" isn't just rusted out. The jack point is integral with the side sill of the car, which is a main component that holds the car together - that's not "minor rust."

$2,300 sounds fair.

Greg
