300CE- Atlanta area

A friend has an '89 300CE that has exceeded his interest level... perhaps someone here would enjoy it. It has 178k, and probably has a collapsed piston ring. The recent valve job and new head gasket may have been the kiss of death.

It has a new radiator, and new A/C equipment, including the evaporator. It's very clean, and he drives like an old man, basically because he IS an old man . The tires have 1/2 tread remaining, and the body is fine, although I've not done any detailed inspection for rust, etc.

I'll not be here for the rest of today or this weekend, so gather your thoughts and questions and I'll check back on Monday. Kelley blue book in fair condition says $2675, but the engine issue obviously impacts that number. Break-up value may be a better indicator....

I'd say somewhere between $1,200 and $1,800.

i'd be interested in talking. I'd like to know more about the car. He would have to be realistic about the price, however.

I am also interested. Please email me at hans14914 (at) yahoo.com Is the car currently in driveable condition? I live in Indianapolis, and would not want to tow the car back.
Thanks
Hans

Addresses have been forwarded, emails have been sent..... let's see what happens. There may be an engine available, and if the price is right- he may go in that direction. 'Cause he really likes the car! Good luck to all-

Dropping in a 3.2 liter M104 engine (104.992) would be a massive undertaking. The fuel injection and ignition systems are completely different.

You could, though, quite easily drop in the 24 valve version of the M103 engine, the 3.0 liter M104 (104.990). It uses the same fuel injection and ignition system.
