I think I am going to sell it. '82 300SD
I had a Maaco paint job put on it, it has almost new tires, the A/C works(could be colder IMHO) runs smooth, no smoke, nice interior with the exception of the dash pad cracking, new rear window seal(OEM).
It needs two seat switches. The switches work but the "button posts" are broken off the switch. The glow plug light has begun to work intermittently but I am confident that it needs a glow plug or two(I will replace ALL the plugs before the car leaves my yard). The transmission was gone through professionally and now shifts and works as it should. There is a vacuum leak in the lock mechanism in the front passenger door. It seems more to be the vacuum hose connected to the mechanism. I have re-attached it twice and for some reason it wants to come loose(I know, new vacuum line would fix it but at the times I re-attatched it I did not have that luxury) I have since disconnected the door locks and auxillary pump for now. If you are local and would like to look a the car then I encourage you to do so. I have a clear title for the car in my name. I am thinking of throwing in the following with this car: 1979 300SD..engine & tranny out but have replacement engine for it to be included...no title. I haven't seen any rust on this car but I won't say that it's rust free because I haven't gone over it with a fine tooth comb. An assortment of engine and electrical parts for an '85 300D turbo including a cylinder head, 2 fuel injection pumps, a relatively new turbo, several 123 instrument clusters, and 123 tailight assemblies. I really don't have time or space to list the various parts I have stored up. It ALL goes as a package. I have an '84 190D, 2- 1981 Rabbit diesels, a 1982 Rabbit diesel, an '84 Chevy Siverado, and a 24' Pontoon boat not to mention the two others I am trying to sell. I have lost interest in the '82 and the '79. I was going to use it as a "special driver" but there are only two drivers in the household and my daughter won't be driving for a few more years so I want to sell the ones that interest me the least. I would trust the '82 for long trips but with diesel fuel so high I won't drive it on any long trips. The 190 and the VW's are much more affordable. If you are interested then let me know. I was thinking $3000 for the whole package. click on the link below and go to the first page of the thread. I did something wrong somehow. Gonna get the '82 SD painted this coming week... Kevin |
