'68 220 in CT F/S

Hey All,

I am an avid car enthusiast, but not really into the Benz scene. I acquired this 1968 ( I think) 220 and just want to off-load it to someone who may have some use for it. The car is located in New Haven, CT. $400 and its yours. It has a seized engine I am told but it is complete.

email me at foxfab@comcast.net

Thanks and sorry for this being my first post. I was told to try my luck here from Pirate4x4.com

Mike

Good place to try, being who we are. Though you might find your price a bit optimistic. Did you tow it there with that truck? It's a bad thing to pull a benz on its rear wheels with the driveshaft attached. Destroys the transmisison. -CTH

I'm open to offers. But the scrap guy will give me $200 for it. Since I restore classic Land Cruisers, I can appreciate the fact that someone needs parts from this vehicle for a restoration and I cry every time I hear of a Cruiser going to the crusher. I didnt want the same fate for this vehicle. No, the Benz wasn't towed there with the wrecker. Neither vehicle has moved in years.

Then the fellow looking for a 4-cylinder transmission in a different thread can use this one. He phrased his question along the lines of "can I bolt the transmission from an inline-6 onto the back of a 4 cylinder?

Another interesting combination, presuming this body's not rotten, is to put a more modern 4 cylinder in there. The 220 body is a heck of a lot nicer than those poor W201 cars. -CTH
