1982 Mercedes Benz 300SD Turbo Diesel
1982 Mercedes Benz 300SD Turbo Diesel. The VIN number is WDBCB20A9CB032027. This is a very nice 1982 Mercedes 300 Sedan Turbo Diesel with a 126 Body (Big Body). This vehicle includes a 3.0 liter 5 cylinder diesel turbo motor, automatic overdrive transmission, very nice dark gray metallic paint, black leatherette interior, AC, dual power bucket seats, power windows, power locks, power sunroof, cruise control, front and rear center armrests, passenger side mirror, all wood grain accents throughout the interior cabin, only 157K miles, original Mercedes Benz wheels, and two original keys. The condition of this vehicle is excellent considering its age! The car runs well with its diesel turbo motor, which is one of the most tried and true motors built by Mercedes Benz. This is a very nice car with low miles. The car is free of rust, or any sort of body damage. It has been maintained and runs as a vehicle of this caliber should. It has a new battery. The tires are in excellent shape. The sun roof and all the windows work smooth. Recently, I replaced all the power window motors and regulators. Also, I replaced the lower oil cooler hose. The dash is in nearly mint condition. Automatic climate control works well. To my knowledge this Mercedes Benz does not have any mechanical or maintenance issues at this time and is very dependable. All fluids have been changed. New air filter, new fuel filters and wiper blades have been installed. The brakes are good. The interior is in good shape. It is a really nice car overall that gets incredible gas mileage. Asking $2,500.00 or best offer. Call (732) 996-1740.

Davidbahary sure doesn't know much about what is under the hood.
A 3 liter motor? It seems now that cars have engines and motors (hybrids) it is even more important to use the correct terminology. An engine burns fuel. A motor runs on electric, air, hydraulic etc. energy. P E H |

Enough of this BS. Webster's New World Dictionary, Third Edition: motor: 1. Anything that produces motion 2. an engine; especially an internal combustion engine 3. a machine for converting electrical energy into mechanical energy So, can we finally put this to rest. The term "motor" is entirely proper for an internal combustion engine. |

Brian,
Not too bad, Webster got one out of 3 correct. I've seen this Webster sorry definition of motor before. Since Webster was a Liberal arts major instead of an engineer, I wouldn't expect him to know much about motors or engines. I also in a dictionary where a concierge was a janitor. Have you ever seen a concierge pushing a broom? Just proves a dictionary isn't always correct. P E H |

Brian,
That's OK. At one time the "de-factos" said the world was flat. Now we all know they were wrong. With the hybrid cars if we don't use the correct terminology, how will we know which energy converter, engine or motor, a person is talking about? Someday we might have true motor cars again. P E H |
