Hello,

The A/C compressor just gave up on my '83 300TD and I'm ready to move on. The car just passed PA state safety inspection this month (needed front pads, everything else was fine and pads are now new.)

Car is beige and rust colored with 213k on the clock. Bought from original owner. Was told engine was replaced within the last 2 or 3 years but they couldn't remember exactly when...local indy verified that engine looked newer than car, turbo is in great shape, and runs great! 35mpg on highway, between 25 and 30 around town. (I've read lately on the board that people think economy numbers of 35mpg are unrealistic but I had no preconcieved notion as to economy and these are real-world, as-delivered numbers based on recent trips on the PA turnpike. Sure it's a flat and straight road and if I drive around town and have to start/stop a lot, these numbers drop to mid twenties on average.)

I was told by the previous owner that the floors and rockers were replaced near the time of the engine replacement. This is believable as they're rust-free - but the body needs some work, especially the inside lower portion of the front drivers door. Also, other visible rust on the body. Factory roof rack, Pioneer stereo with 12 disc changer (factory Becker Grand Prix is with car if you wanted to reinstall), had cold A/C until today!!! Wood trim on glove compartment is broken and would need to be replaced. This is not the cleanest car out there but it runs as good as any I've driven. A little rust repair and a cheapie paint job would make it a very respectable driver.

Not looking for a ton of $$$. Just enough to get me something else (wagon, preferably) to drive. $1000 maybe. Send offers or requests for pics. Will consider trades. Thanks!

How about some pics of other side "drivers door" and interior?

Also, JohnHef, a respected member of this forum is local and has the door and the hatch for this car to make it perfect (you'd need to paint to match when you touch up the other spots.) The hatch is really only surface rust but maybe easier to just replace if you're not a body guy.

Also, in today's photos the crossbars are missing on the roof rack. They're safe and sound inside the car...I had my bike rack on this weekend and removed them for safe keeping, just in case anyone wondered where they went.
Not interested in parting the car out...it's too easy to make nice. If it doesn't sell, I'll fix the rust and put it on ebay for the know-nothing hounds with big bucks.
