I have been driving an 85 500 SEL for over 3 years now and am searching for another around the same year. "Faded Glory" needs to be passed to my daughter because her 91 Toyota has kicked the bucket and if anyone is getting another car, it is me!! Only problem is I love those old MB's and they are getting fewer and harder to find. Knew I should have jumped at the one Whiskey Dan had up a few months ago!! Frankly, mine is a heap but she sure buried that Toyota!! I went to the Benzworld site and it was like going into a farmers market, pages and pages of "parts" with a few "cars" thrown in!! The arrangment is much better here.

Anyway, if anyone knows of one for sale not too far off let me know. I like the 500's but would settle for a smaller model in decent shape. Thanks in advance.

A customer of mine has an '85 500SEL which is in pretty nice shape, for sale. It's 904 Midnight Blue with Palomino leather. Original, unmolested car, we recently serviced it and performed a full brake job front and rear (pads, rotors and calipers (front only on the calipers) and put in a new alternator and MB battery). The paint is nice on the car as well as the interior. Mileage is 202K but the car had a valve job and timing chain at 200K done by another MB shop in Philadelphia. There are a few cars here in Beaumont, Tx, that is only about 3 hrs from Breaux Bridge. Check out southeasttexas.com there are a few benz there. We also have 2 mercedes shops that may be able to find you one. Lots of gassers around here!
