For Sale: NYC 1989 260E- $500 o.b.o

This is the same body as the 300E with a 2.6L engine. Black on black. This car is cosmetically perfect. Paint and leather look great. Got into a small accident on the expressway. Front bumper beam, which is under the plastic exterior bumper, is pushed in and restricting the electric radiator fan from spinning. Also needs serpentine belt put on and a lower radiator hose. Easy backyard job. Very well maintained before accident. Records from about 5 years back. 500 obo Please feel free to throw your offers at me. Email me or PM for pics. Bry_Lee106@yahoo.com. Located in Queens NY. (917)807-5166

nice car, worth it

I just went to see the car. I'm gonna skip, since I just cemented a deal for a 500sec. But here it is.

I believe the damage to be easily fixed. Somebody who knows body work will have to chime in. -CTH

The mileage is 185000. As you can already see from the pics that this jerk posted of my car, it is missing a few cosmetics. However this guy seems to over exaggerate. There is a small dent by the back of the mercedes emblem, but none of the panels are severly scuffed or scuffed at all. The bumper covers are a bit faded due to 16 years of the car being on the road. The passenger side door is missing the switch for the power seats not the window switch. As everyone knows the window switchs are in the center console of the car. Next time let the owner sell his own car jerk.

I'd be happy to pull the pictures if you like, but you didn't ask. As for exageration, I said "nice car, worth it". I think it's worth what you're asking. I'd be buying it myself if I didn't come home to an email about a 500sec I was trying to grab.

I agree with your assessment that it's a well maintained car, other than some wear & tear to the interior. Notice that the paint is still doing a good job reflecting images. That's why you can see the two dents I pointed out. They're not major, but at 10 feet, they're still visible. Also, both you and I neglected to point out the very recent inspection sticker. That means this car passed the incredibly stringent NY downstate emissions tests back in late June. Once that bent metal is pulled back out, this should be a good car for somebody.

I would relax. He did a lot of work for you, doing what appears to be an honest observation of the car. Your attitude makes me not even want to look at it. You did not even bother to post photos, and that is very important to do when advertising a damaged car. I would say you owe him a thank you, not a name calling. I say he has done more here on the forum to sell your car than you have, perhaps you should pay him a commission.
