FS: 1992 300D $6400 Ohio REDUCED!!!
must sell my 92 300D, as my family is too large (3 kids) to fit comfortably into it on long trips anymore, I'm now looking for a 94-95 E320 wagon....
Anyway, here's the details: 1992 300D 2.5 Turbo - Pearl black over cream beige MB-tex. - 181,xxx documented miles on the clock. - 3rd owner, have service records back to 45k miles or so. - Starts, shifts and runs like it should, needs nothing. - 15k service recently performed (@180k miles). - Excellent fuel mileage, 34mpg highway. I've owned the car 2+ years now (5/03), and have put about 35k miles on it during that time. Here's a list of the highlights of what I have done: - Replace timing chain. - Replace transmission cooler hoses. - Replace thermostat, radiator (Behr), and radiator hoses. - Replace water pump, tensioner, and vacuum pump. - Replace rear muffler and flex pipe. - Replace differential mounts. - Rebuild front suspension (struts (Bilstein), springs, spring pads, strut mounts, ball joints, sway bar bushings). - Rebuild rear suspension (shocks (Bilstein), two of the links on each side). - New motor mounts (last week) All fluids have also been replaced (engine oil - Mobil 1, transmission fluid - Mobil 1, coolant - MB/water, brake fluid - Agip, power steering fluid - MB). In the interest of full disclosure, there is a paint/rust bubble on the driver's side rear wheel well and also on the driver's side a-pillar. Also, the handle is broken off of the driver's mirror inside. Since I'm really the only one that drives this car, it never needs to be moved. Not a big deal. I believe the front passenger's side fender has been replaced or resprayed due to an incident with a mailbox (according to previous owner). I don't think there's any other paintwork on this car other than that, and I've really looked closely. This is an opportunity for someone who's always wanted a W124 diesel in EXCELLENT mechanical condition - I've done all the reconditioning for you. There's really nothing left to do except for scheduled maintenance. The long-term issues with this engine (OM602) are taken care of (vacuum pump, tensioner, chain). The radiator is new, which is good for peace of mind and the Michelin MXV4 tires have about 30% tread remaining. I need to sell this car ASAP, as I need to be able to jump when the right wagon appears. I'll a couple of dozen photos posted to the web later today. Aaron Greenburg has taken car of the car (susp. rebuild, AC recharge) and you can ask him how nice it is! Chris photos at http://home.fuse.net/mercedes/300d |
