1995 GMC Suburban SLT 4WD - top of the line - $4700/consider trade for 300SD/300SDL
I would either like to sell this SUV, or CONSIDER trade for a 1984-85 300SD, or 86-87 300SD. Perhaps even a 84-85 500SEL / 86-87 560SEL. If you have a diesel Mercedes that you are considering to sell to buy a large SUV, you may be interested in this.
1995 GMC Suburban SLT K1500 - This is the top of the line SLT model. Equipped with 4-wheel drive, 350 FI V8 (gasoline engine), 4-speed automatic, front and rear A/C (needs recharged - uses R134a), overhead console w/holder for sunglasses, remote, etc, center console, power windows, power locks, power seats (w/lumbar), power mirrors, cruise, tilt, AM-FM cassette, leather interior, 3rd seat (7-passenger), luggage rack, privacy glass, towing hitch, alloy wheels, driverside airbag, anti-lock brakes, "double" rear doors. The only options available at the time that this one lacks is the CD player and electronic compass. It also has numerous cupholders throughout. I really do not want to sell it, but it is not practical for me to keep a SUV of this size @ this time. It has 288K FREEWAY miles. I purchased it from the original owner a few months ago. Most of the miles were racked up on trips from Virginia to California, as well as some trips from southern Virginia to New York. It still runs good, reliable and I drive daily, but it does need minor repairs if you are picky. Sometimes the cassette needs "coaxing" to work and it may soon need a new front U-joint. Also a tire is out of balance that can be felt at a certain speed. New front brakes (rotors and pads) installed about 2000 miles ago. New battery about a year ago. New rear u-joint about 500 miles ago. The previous owner told me that the transmission was replaced when it had 185K- which was 102K ago. New starter about 800 miles ago. It gets about 13 mpg in the city and about 16-17 on the freeway. The paint is good, but has some blemishes (chips on the hood). There is also a small rust spot on the lower rear tailgate door and a slight dent on the left rear 1/4 panel. I have it priced well below book value. The interior is good, but the front leather seats have some cracking/flaws. I currently have seat covers on them, just to protect them. Small crack on the lower corner of windshield, but not speading, because it has cracked from lower corner to corner. Does not go in view. Headliner is good throughout, as are the rear seats. All power windows, power locks and power seats in perfect working order. Not perfect in all areas, but very servicable 4-wheel drive full-size SUV. If you would like more photos/info, just e-mail or call. I prefer to sell, but will consider trade for a nice 300SD or 300SDL diesel Mercedes-Benz car from 1984-1987. I really do not want to sell this SUV, but it is not practical for me to keep it at this time. I have photos, so e-mail if you want more. Parts recently replaced: front brake pads and rotors, coolant sensor, rear u-joint, engine starter. KBB private party value is $5580 (even with 288K) KBB retail is $8265 KBB trade-in is $3635 $3500. E-mail/message if interested. Last edited by 86560SEL; 11-05-2005 at 11:17 PM. |

I could not post photos at this time, because it said that my photo was too large by 2 points.
I will try to resize and post soon. |

Here are some interior photographs taken on 10-31-2005.
The exterior photos were taken in July of 2005. The exterior photos I took on 10-31 were too large to post here and I did not want to resize them, but it still looks the same. Last edited by 86560SEL; 11-01-2005 at 10:07 PM. |

Ya know, its funny. When I was looking to buy one of these about a year ago, I could not find one for less than $6000. Now I cannot even sell this one for $3400. People wants to trade me bass boats, or trade me "tricked out" 87' BMW 6-Series coupes.
Oh well. Guess I will advertise in the local papers. Last edited by 86560SEL; 11-07-2005 at 11:35 PM. |

two words: gas prices
Those 'employee pricing for everyone' deals could not have helped ya much either.

Thanks. That is what I was thinking @ first, but gasoline here now is down to about $2.00 per gallon, which is about what it was when I bought it a few months ago. I guess people are frightened that the fuel prices will soar again.

$2? that's cheep. We're down to about $2.35-$2.40 with diesel running around $2.75ish (last I checked)
I think the higher price of diesel is part of the reason there has not been as much intrest as I thought there would be for my 300D and certanly making it a bit more painful at the pump every time I fill 'er up.

Yeah, at some places in the area, it is now back up to around $2.07 or so. Some are still as high as $2.20. Gasoline here peaked out around $2.77 per gallon if I recall.
Yeah, diesel is still high here. It was $3.00 per gallon, but now down to around $2.60 I think. |

why won't it sell?
i think people are afraid of the miles on your truck. It is a miracle that it still running. Hey I've got a 1983 euro model 500sel in great shape. It has 260,000 miles on it but still runs extremely strong. The hood had been bent in an accident so it has been replaced by a different colred hood. Dark grey hood with a silver body. the hood needs to be painted. Other than this, the drivers window is off track and might need a new motor, sunroof doesn't open (Ithink that it is an electrical problem), the trunk seal needs to be replaced. When I bought the car it had the front end damage. There was no damage to the frame and no noticable existing problems. I also replaced the radiator and water pump because they were hit. the body damage is now unoticable, but needs a little touch up paint. damage was very minor This cars interior is in beautiful shape. The low blue book on this car is about 7000 and high blue book is about 15000. are you interested at all?

Yeah, I am thinking miles are part of it. Most people are afraid of high miles on anything. One of my grandfathers trades in his cars before they reach 75K. He said he is scared to drive over 100K. .
Actually, I am on a Chevrolet forum and many have these with over 500K on them. I agree, they must be well cared for however to reach these miles. Mine was a 1-owner, regularly maintained auto, with most of the miles being racked up between driving from Virginia to California. I may be interested in your car. Several people are currently consider trading. One I am really interested in locally is a 87' 300SDL, with 109K miles. The owner is supposed to let me know something soon. Any photos available on this car? Location? Thanks. Quote:
