Ultra-clean 1984 300D turbodiesel - Charlotte NC
If you know of, or hear of anyone who's looking for a very clean 300D turbo (W123), with all maintenance records from the date the car was originally purchased, please let them know. It has about 270K on it, mileagewise; uses no oil (but does drip 1 or 2 drops now and then - no so much as to be a problem, however) and has had probably $3K worth of maintenance/replacements done on it in the last year. Oil and filter changed every 3000 – 4000 miles, with Mobil1 Delvac diesel synthetic oil, transmission has been serviced every 15,000 miles. Valve adjustments done every 15,000 miles as well. Oil and transmission were just serviced, valve adjustment ($110) is due.
All maintenance has been done ‘by the book’ and is well-documented No rust or water leaks Here's a list of things replaced/repaired/rebuilt within the last 3 years: January 21, 2006: New drivers seat from the rails up (frame, pads, and covers) New steering damper (01/21/06) Late 2005: New Bilstein shocks (all 4) New brakes (12/05) New Interstate battery New valve body in transmission (turned out it was just a jammed kickdown switch) Oil & transmission services done (12/05), approximately 3,000 miles remaining before oil service is due Speedometer/odometer assembly refurbished, gauges repainted and new bulbs installed. New monovalve for HVAC Replaced mounting brackets for rear bumper impact strip New driver/passenger window switch New seal gasket - front passenger door New interior door panel - rear passenger door 2004 Both rear axles and boots replaced New compressor, receiver and dryer for A/C – tight system, has not required a recharge of Freon for 2 summers now. 2003: Recently rebuilt front suspension - <20K miles since all front suspension components were replaced (except shocks and steering damper, which were replaced in late 2005) Replaced both rear window regulators Also has: Upgraded Hella headlights K&N air filter Lots of spare maintenance parts (filters, brake pads, bulbs, fuses, etc.). Timing chain replaced at 150K miles, per Mercedes maintenance specifications Turbocharger was replaced at 160K miles. Some spare interior trim included (kick panels, sunroof headliner). Floor mats recently replaced with OEM Mercedes mats. AM/FM/CD Sirius-ready Kenwood stereo with remote (less than 2 years old), Kenwood amp, JBL sub-woofer, Infinity rear speakers and Clarion front speakers - phenomenal stereo. Good Yokohama tires - 50% tread life remaining Very clean, navy blue, original paint (some minor chips and dings, not uncommon for a 20+ year old car) recently replaced pinstriping, with tan MBTex interior. Still cleans up well. Garage kept, very dependable "daily driver" and is very roadworthy. Pics available upon request after this weekend. Asking $3,500. I'm the 3rd owner, and have purchased a new car after driving this one for 14 years. Still a great car, we take it on road trips without hesitation from Charlotte, NC to Richmond, VA and South Hill, VA. Absolutely a perfect car for teenagers - safe, sturdy and dependable. Please call or email with any questions - pictures available later this week/weekend. Ken Davis 704-328-7986 (work) yeahrightnc@hotmail.com |

Sold...
Thanks to everyone who expressed interest in my car, both on and off-forum. She went to a good new home in GA this morning - hard to see her go, though.
