FS: 1995 E420 - Boston, MA

I'm selling my 1995 E420 as I want to get a C32 AMG. I'd rather see it go to someone who'll appreciate it more than a wholesaler. (The dealer will just wholesale it since it has 100k mi.)

About the car:

Probably $10,000+ in receipts (I have ALL service records, receipts for replacement parts, etc. in a binder)

It has 17x7.5" ET37 Mercedes wheels ($320 ea.) and 215/45/17 Michelin Pilot Sports with decent tread left.

Part Wood/Part Leather shift knob. I have the original one should you not like this one

Mercedes Original All-Weather Floor Mats

Most importantly, an almost immaculate 1995 E420 with close to 100,000 miles

The seats are still in really good shape. I always clean them and condition them with Lexol/Apple Leather conditioner.

The exterior is washed often, polished, waxed.

I have a winter beater so I don't drive it in winter.

I'm the second owner of the car

Clean Carfax ( i wouldn't buy one otherwise )

Maintained by what used to be Hatch and Sons (www.hatchandsons.com) all its life

Won 3rd Place at last year's MBCA Concourse in Brookline, MA in the "Street" Class. Note: I did not have the car specially detailed for that event, I detailed it on the spot before the event.

Service/Repairs

Most importantly: A/C Evaporator core and Upper Engine Wiring Harness - $4300 (including all the little vacuum actuators under the dash)

Recent brakes, new rotors some 17k miles ago. Pads like 5000 miles ago.

New shocks when I bought it (3.5 years ago)

New Power Antenna

Oil Change every 3000 miles or 3 months (whichever one came first)

major service every 30k miles (thousands of $$$)

New motor mounts within the past 3 years

I don't remember everything really, again if you come take a look, you're welcome to sit at a Starbucks over coffee to discuss the binder full of receipts

Reason for selling : Getting a 'new' car, either a 500E or a C32

Car is in Boston, MA

Asking PRICE with the wheels and everything is

$12,000

(or nearest offer, or maybe trade for a 500E + cash from me?)

Various pictures of the car here:

I'll post more soon

Its replacement (hopefully I don't have to trade the 420 in for it)

What a stunning car! Love the black with saddle interior. I don't think I've seen another W124 with this color combination.

I think I'd rather be driving your car than my E430.

Guys don't let Paul kid you, he is got one sweet looking W210. The wood and leather steering wheel alone makes the car look special (BTW Paul, Performance Products is STILL showing the steering wheel as backordered, at this rate I'll NEVER get mine ).

Paul's former W124 was also a sweet ride.

But I agree, the black exterior and the saddle interior look stunning! (The Chateau in some of the background pictures is not bad either!)

Selling the E420

Holson, I hate the fact that you decided to sell one of the last hand built MB's. Your E420 is beautiful and I always admired those photo you posted. I enjoyed reading your past post on this forum and they were helpful in helping me solve problems with my W124/E420. Thanks for those past post. I hope you enjoy you new MB....

I can back up what Holson says about his car. I was Chief Judge at the show. Very nice car, looks like a 10,000 mile car, not 100,000.

I've also seen this ride, fabulous condition...IMO, your price is too low and FWIW, you won't be happy with a C32 Holson, especially as it nears 100K. You'll be sorry you let the W124 go I bet.

Guess you won't need euro-E500 lights now will you?

I'd be interested as soon as I can sell my restoration project - A 1976 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ55.

I have a '94 E420 already and would like to add another (for economy of maintenance - of course)

Beautiful Car!

Thanks for all the comments guys, really appreciate it.

If you need a 3rd party reference, please ask me for a phone number of the person who was the Service Manager at the former Hatch and Sons (now started his own shop in Waltham - guess where I'll be taking my Mercedes from now on) - He can vouch for the service/repairs on the E420.

Moving on...

Some new pictures, it was nice out and I was done with my Master ProjecT!! YESS!

I'm starting to have doubts about selling the car.. I don't know why? Maybe because I'm not totally loving the C32, or even the CLK55 I drove today?

and there's is absolutely nothing wrong with the E420?
