with no history i wouldn't pay more than 500 or 750 for the car. If hes offering it at 2000 offer him 400...maybe come up to 600.
At that many miles things just start to wear out...you've got to ask yourself if its going to be worth a thousand or two in suspension or engine items to keep it on the road. Good luck!

I think I've heard fuel mileage is high 20's... I also think I've heard that it will go just fast enough to make you want more... 344,XXX is a lot of miles so if stuff wasn't maintained it will suck up a few bucks. Get it looked at for suspension and driveline stuff. Good luck.

Its a California car,I assume,if the body is all stock, not rusted and original paint, those are worth money...just testdrive it,get it up to 75 mph for 5-6 miles, and see if you can still hear the radio, need both hands to keep it on the road, and when you get back, look under and see how big the puddle of oil is forming. If none of those happend, you got yourself a 2k car, give or take something depend on how nasty and dried out the MB tex is,specially the top of the back seat and the drivers seat.
