Exclamation Buyer Beware!

Let me make this PERFECTLY CLEAR...

PeachParts.com will take absolutely NO RESPONSIBILITY WHATSOEVER for any transactions between members. It is BUYER BEWARE.

We will only support the parts we sell...ie-
If a member has a problem with a part they bought from Fastlane or AllPartsExpress: we will make it right.
FYI: Fastlane & AllPartsExpress Feedback

BUT...
If a member gets ripped off by another member they are on their own. NO EXCEPTIONS! We do NOT want to get involved in ANY WAY.

Question List of known scammers?

I've sold my 6.9 four times now. The latest names used by scammers sending me large bogus checks and asking me to pay their shipper with excess funds were Andrew Runnells and Kevin Foster. Maybe starting a thread of names used will allow others to tread lightly and do their homework before doing business with them.

Thumbs down

Add someone using the name: Ashley Pitu . I got this BS...

I am actually trying to get this car for my first son will be adding a year to his age in about 3 weeks as he has always been a fan of this car. So I think its worth paying whatever the shipping charges will be just to put a laughter on his face.
As to the price, I will offer you $2k. So if you deem the offer good enough, I will be very glad to make the payment asap through my PayPal account as I am currently offshore and I won't definitely be able to make it to my bank to make bank wires across to you.
As to shipping, you need not worry yourself about how the car will get to me here in the China as I will contact a shipping company here who will handle that. I will however be needing your contact address to be able to get the shipping quote from the shipping company.

Do get back to me asap with your PayPal Email address and Full name so
that I can remit the payment asap.

Cheers,
Ashley

Google the name to find other scams using the same story as above. Using paypal is a new angle. I'm assuming use of a bogus/stolen credit card for payment.

Hope this can help someone.

About 10 months ago I purchased my '87 300D from him for $3000 cash. No problem, it had some small issues, which were disclosed. But some where not but they are not major. Flakey fuel gauge, non working illuminated switches, etc.

He promised with the car all documents, spare keys, some spare parts and if I ever have any issue to give him a call. I discovered the flakey fuel gauge two weeks after buying the car and some other things ive had to fix . I called him, and it took me multiple attempts to get a hold of him.

I have been trying to get my parts and keys from him since I bought the car. I only got a box of upper end engine gaskets and seals...Those came with the car as well as a crappy set of extra wheels and tires (which in the pictures only showed the two good wheels). I also have his vanity tag that was on the car as well. I guess he doesn't want it back either.

Calls, texts, facebook, and forum messages get no reply from him at all. There is no possibly way he is that busy. He is not a doctor or someone of any importance. A world class surgeon would have at least had a secretary call me months ago! ( sarcasm)

With that being said, I caution you from doing any form of transaction with this member. Be it car detailing, purchasing cars, or parts from him.

Joe, "if you ever have an issue" doesn't mean if you're stupid enough to run yourself out of fuel less than a week after you purchase the car, proceed to call me, repeatedly! in the middle of the night screaming at me( I believe my first voicemail was in the ballpark of 12:40a) about my "piece of ****" 300D that I sold you, especially when I'm nice enough to take the car out, and give it a final wax, and put $40 worth of diesel in to help offset your drive back to Orlando from Clearwater (makes me wonder if in the next few days if he even added any...)

I'll be the first person to admit that I've been completely ignoring your forms of communication.

I have, a replacement antenna mast, in its original bag, sitting in FL, waiting for the day I get together with you. along with a functioning used motor and mast combo. along with that, I have the OE blue floor mats in Ohio, which shall come to Florida with me in the next trip. The book of Service records are in Tampa as well, in a box with some misc. 124 trim pieces I have collected. There are some additional wheel bolts I have, some with polished tips some with out. Also, I have One, please make note, ONE additional key, that functions, but likes to set off the alarm, hence why I made sure you got the virtually brand new key when you picked up the car.... oh... and and for my, and Hatty's sake. I have the Belly Pan.

aside from that, I also made sure on day of delivery you got brand new MB head/intake/valve cover gaskets, prechamber seals (in the event the #14 head needed some love when that day comes) a new set of glow plugs, and a new timing belt tensioner for a grand total of $47x.xx my cost from Mercedes Benz of Cincinatti. Lets make note, that my car didn't have a waterfall of dino coming out of it, and little/no consumption, and no signs of a damaged head etc, but as a pure precaution. If the car had gone to anyone else, those would have been sold separately!

I think its COMPLETELY uncalled for that you felt the need to come complaining to me over each little thing your ~200k '87 300D may need, like an AC charge (which you knew about), slight belt squeak etc or post things on facebook titled "previous owner syndrome" When clearly, my bandaid worked, and caused no harm to the car. And your scare tactic of threatening to flame me on forums and using increasingly profane language in voicemails and text messages etc are uncalled for.

90% of this community knows exactly where you got it, oh look there's even a thread.

I can honestly say, that after you dicked me around on the purchase of your cabrio, I should have realized your train wreck habits of complains and public discussion, and I whole heartedly regret selling the 300D to you. I've been biting my tongue knowing that you and I socialize with the same group of people, but this conveniently comes to a head, less than 24 hours after you must have realized that I blocked you on facebook? Childish

Oh, and just a heads up, I threw away the uncracked black dash after you told me you got an uncracked blue one. So don't jump my throat for that either.

Scammers

You can add the alleged name of Jesper Holm to that list of scammers but I’m sure it was a stolen identity.

When I speak to others about being approached by these Scammers, you would not believe the number of successful Scams they have done. Hint...only sell to citizen of USA. Who reside here. No excuses accepted.

post it here [in the actual cars for sale section] with photos and location. if you use craigslist, check the box for "no replies to this email" and accept texts or calls only. it makes it easier to deal with scammers////don't respond to out of area calls/texts or ones asking about your "item" for sale.
i never post the license number just because some creep might be able to find my address that way.

Careful about this 1997 E300 Diesel: WDBJF20F6VJ029215
Clean 2-owner Carfax and only 118k miles

The owner stated the car is excellent; however, it had mold inside one storage compartment, broken side mirror and other small things. Otherwise car was very clean - freshly detailed.
The main red flag is that he was very uncomfortable talking about inspecting the car and was not willing to have it inspected at any car specialist at my expense...said he is not ready to sell the car but keeps all his ads up

Also the car hasn't received any maintenance in the past two years of his ownership except a new alternator.
It looked as a great deal, a bit too good to be true, until the inspection problem occurred.
Anyway, be careful.

Facebook and Craigslist in Dallas, TX.

The car is a very basic model, no turbo, no rear shade, no auto-dimming mirrors, no leather...
