1992 400e for sale in NoCA - Pictures! (very clean)

I am selling my '92 400e because I was offered a nearly new e320 that I could not pass up. I just put it on the market on Monday. If you have any comments or suggestions, please let me know...
Thanks!
Here is the add from Craigslist:
http://www.craigslist.org/eby/car/173161173.html

Great condition, 3rd owner, Beautiful car – you will not believe how good it looks when you see it! It looks much newer because of the incredible shine, AMG features and excellent maintenance.

Miles 192,700
Color Charcoal Grey (not sure of the actual MBZ name)
Features:
Leather
Power seats
Driver seat memory
Power steering
Power windows
Power door locks
Air conditioning
Telescoping wheel
Cruise control
Dual front air bags
4 wheel ABS
Power sunroof

Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo >> KDC-X815 Excelon with motorized faceplate, 45Wx4
Great power, features, remote control!

AMG features
Sport suspension >> Car sits lower than stock MBZ
16 in. MBZ wheel >>with 215/55/16 low profile tires (stock was 15”)
Painted front grill surround (not chrome)

Upgraded headlights >> Replaced stock lights with European one piece lamps with super-white bulbs. Also upgraded blinkers to clear euro corner lights (see pictures). These work much better that the stock lights and look great too!

All records since 2000 > new transmission in 2002 (158092 miles)

With 14 years and over 190,000 miles, there are a few things that don’t quite work like new anymore. Here is a list of what I know about:
>>>Like many German cars – it has a slow oil leak. It is not a major problem, but it is there (the cost to find and fix it was not worth the expense to me – I just wipe up the drops from time to time).
>>>The temp and oil pressure gauges work intermittently. It seems they alternate one then the other…I am told it sounds like a bad ground connection, but again, it was not worth the expense to fix these.
>>>It will need tires before long – 2 sooner than later.
>>>The lights behind the A/C controls do not work so you need to know where they are at night or use the dome light or outside light to control them in the dark.

The body is very clean and straight. The rubber part of the bumpers has a few marks on them from city parking, but this is not real noticeable. The lower part of the drive’s door has an area where some of the paint has worn off (due to loose trim at some point it the car’s life). These are not very noticeable and will not be seen by most people, but I want you to know what to expect!

That’s about it. Every thing else works fine – windows sunroof, horn…this is a great looking, strong running car that I hate to sell. I have too many toys to keep it around, so I have to sell it. You will not find another car like this on CL!

Email me with any questions!

I reduced the price to $4400 to try and get some attention...hopefully it is worth close to that!

Seems like a decent price for your car.

I've always wondered how Mercedes managed to shoehorn such a big engine in such a tiny space.

BTW, oil leaks are not typical of German cars. I have a 1989 300TE. It has 196k miles on the clock and it does leak oil.

Good luck with your car.

Sold

Although CA smog was a challenge, this car is sold. If you need to pass a high mile car, I learned some tricks that might help you...if there is interest, I will post.
Thanks to all who looked and commented.

post CA smog tricks

I need to do everything I can to get my 1988 300CE to pass. I have a rich setting. I can pass with the mixture set really lean but then I can't start the car well. It has to be that the injectors and plugs throttle are gunked up. Its full of unburned HydroCarbons.
Thanks
Jason
