-needs body work, bunch of little rust spots
-needs fuel pump he says
-windshield is broken at the sides so it looks like the frame bent on a launch

should i wait and talk him down more or pay 3500??? cdn funds

Find a good MB mechanic and have him go over the car. The price doesn't sound too bad from your description, but only someone who knows what they are looking for can really tell you if you're buying a problem or a treasure.

Also there is a great article on mbcoupes.com by a guy named satash about what to look for. Check that out to be more aware of the issues involved.
