I am selling an 87 Mercedes Benz 300D. Odometer states 140,000 miles.

I have been driving this car for about 2 yrs now.

I have had the radiator, alternator, battery and glow plugs replaced within that time period.

The air conditioner does not work (I am told it is the evaporator).

The suspension and steering systems are in need of a overhaul. (Major squeeking noises, front shock may be bad).

I have been unable determine with certainty the condition of the head on the engine. It has one of the original heads. It has not overheated for me, but I am unsure of its history. The coolant resorvoir is discolored which may indicate their was oil in the coolant at one point, but the coolant is clean now and it passes the upper raditor hose squeeze test first thing in the morning.

One of the back windows does not roll down.

I don't want to mislead anyone, this car needs some work or it may even be a candidate for a parts car. You will have to determine that as I am not qualified. I will be happy to work something out to have it inspected by a local mechanic however.

It is in the Orlando area.

I would say the interior is in average condition for its age. I will take some interior pictures and post them up. The cover for the third brake light is broken.

As far as $ go, I am looking for an offer.

I think $2500 is a fair starting point, but negotiable.

My indy mechanic is going to do a pre-sale inspection on this car at the beginning of next week when he returns from vacation. I will post the results at that time and possibly adjust the price based on the results. It is obviously still for sale in the meantime.
