The body on this car is in good condition. There are a few exterior dents that can be fixed very easily. No major scratches. Rust in the usual places – trunk floor and both rocker panels. No rust on the floor in the cabin. All of the window glass is intact and all of the power motors still work. All of the lights are intact and functional.

The engine turns over. I have dropped Marvel Mystery Oil into the cylinders to free up the pistons and rings. It turns over freely with good compression. I didn’t hear the original fuel pump turn on with the ignition so I bought a replacement and then I bought a new one (a new one is $600!!). I bought the new one because I found out they are no longer available. I also put new hoses on the pump and it turns on right away now. Fuel is still not getting to the engine though. The original steel lines are rusted and may be blocked – new steel lines can be fabricated easily. The engine is not getting spark on the plugs or coming from the coil. I bought a new Bosch coil but still not getting spark after it. I also bought a used DME (computer) on eBay in the chance that the original computer might be bad. There are no leaks from the engine, trans, or differential. I’m sure the engine can run again if someone wanted to put more time/effort into it. It would make a great candidate for an aftermarket engine management system such as Pertronix or Motec.

The exhaust looks decent. There is some rust but there doesn’t appear to be any holes.

The brakes will need to be rebuilt and replaced. The car stopped with the brake pedal (and the engine off obviously) so I don’t think every caliper is frozen and the master cylinder probably doesn’t need to be rebuilt. But the rotors are rusted and the pads must be junk.

All four wheels are included with the correct paint-matched hubcaps. The tires should be replaced because they are quite old. I haven’t had the chance to try the suspension out but from underneath everything seems OK. The car sits level when on the ground.

All of the electricals work fine. The lights turn on, the wipers work, the horn works, and nothing seems to be in need of electrical repair. The non-original Becker radio is in a box though.

This is a complete car and needs nothing but some attention from a knowledgeable person. I thought that was me but I haven’t had much success. Nor have I had much time to devote to the project. I bought it believing that the engine would be the toughest to conquer and everything else would be a piece of cake from there. I still believe that and this could be a very-useable and classy car to cruise around in. All of the trim is in place; the seats are very good with only minor tears in the front seats; the inside is not moldy or smelly. Once the engine is running the replacement of the brakes and any suspension components would be easy and routine.

I am selling because I already have another project in-house (1949 Willys-Jeep) and I’d rather have the garage space for other work.

Reply to thread or PM for any pictures that you want. I don't have many but I will take any that you want.

Thanks for looking.
