Would you take an offer to sell the vehicle without the AMG wheels? Do you still have the originals to put on? Thanks.

Why buy used?

My dealer also has '06 CDI's selling new for under $50K...and used '05 and '06 MY CDIs starting at under $35K with starmark warranty. Seems like you might have a tough time getting more for a used one than dealers will sell them for new. I know it is not exactly the same level of amenity, but still that's brand new for under $48K.

The 2006 CDIs are heavily discounted at present, MBUSA has large incentives on them. A brand new equivalent car would barely bring your asking price. For reference, my brother had an offer of a brand new 0-mile CDI equipped with the premium package for $48.2K. Granted, that doesn't include the AMG wheels (and a few other options), but I doubt you'll find many used buyers that attach much value to the wheels. My guess is you need to be prepared to accept perhaps $7K less than your asking price.

Yes, I agree with Jim...also forgot to mention that MBCA club members get an EXTRA $2,500 off their best negotiated price on new E-Class sedans so that would lower the new price to about $45,500 if you happen to spend the $40 or so a year to be a member.
Depreciation is a killer on new Benzes...you're looking at the low 40's for a used, private party sale of a '06 CDI, unfortunately. That's if you can find a buyer. The dealers aren't selling them at cost because people are lining up to buy them from them. Look on the bright side though, if it was a gasser it would be even worse. I bought a 1 year old C Class 4-Matic wagon last year for $26K with under 9K miles that stickered for over $40K 11 months earlier. That's like $1.60 a mile in depreciation. You're probably looking at only about a buck a mile for your 12K miles.

If he has the OEM wheels he could likely net more $$$ by selling the car with the stockers and Ebaying the AMGs...
