WTB: top-notch w123 300D-T
Hello,
I am looking for a top-notch quality 83 or newer w123 300D turbodiesel. Im an old-time board member, but since my beloved car got smashed in 2004 (on my birthday), in a rear-ending that caused a 4-car pileup, and I bought a new saab 9-3, I havent had much interaction on here. I still have my 300D, and may get it fixed. The dynamics of the crash were such that my car saved my life, and only got really screwed up in the left rear quarter. The condition of the car was so excellent, that though it has 228k, and the damage will cost ~$6000, it is a known quantity, and I very well may do it. That said, I am willing to pay top dollar if the right car comes along that has all the quality of my old one. Of course no rust and all the PM receipts are a must. All systems must work 100%, including COLD A/C (R12 or R134a retrofit OK), the car needs to return no less than 28 MPG consistently on the highway, and the transmission must shift perfectly. I am not afraid of mileage, so long as the paint and windshield (the glass they used in these cars is soft) are A-OK, and everything works and was maintained properly, plus it has a clean carfax. History of operation on synthetic lubricants, preferably Mobil delvac 1 5w-40 in the engine is a plus. As I said, Im a picky buyer, and thus why I very well may pay a good deal of $$$ to fix mine - call me stupid, but I own 5 cars and want an excellent w123, as one of them. Top dollar paid for the right car. Contact me if you have one... Thanks, JMH
