Wanted: 82-85 300D Please! - PeachParts Mercedes-Benz Forum

So, here's my search criteria, so far no luck:

82-85 300D
under 200k miles
no rust
relatively smooth transmission
strong engine
driving distance from Philadelphia
price range of $3000 or less

I'm not too concerned with cosmetics with the exception of any dents caused by an accident. Just want a strong engine, transmission, and no red cancer.

Also, any advice from PA, NJ, or DE locals that know of a reputable niche dealer would be greatly appreciated.

Jimz, I would make your request more specific or lower your price maybe. I have a 84 300D Turbo that fits that bill that I will bring up from Florida for $3000. with a big fat smile on my face.

Heck, I might throw in a 79 240D for parts.

Plus, you live in Florida. I envy you. It seems like there are so many of these cars down there with no rust! Up here, not only are they hard to come by, if you do find one, 99% of the time rust is a major issue. So that's why I said $3000. But hey, knock it down to $2000 and I'll let you sleep on my couch and give you a personal tour of the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, the Rocky Balboa statue, whatever you want!

Hey Jim,

I am also in Florida and will be driving my car to Danville, PA the week of Christmas. If you look at my gallery you will see my 1983 300Dt with 168K miles on the chassis and 76K on the engine that was just installed. I have a Carfax report that comes with the car. You can read some of my post and see why I had the engine replaced. You will be hard pressed to find a car that is this well sorted. The car is a two owner car with service records and oriinal manuals included. Everything works and the car is in great condition. Just yesterday, the front rotors and brake pads were replaced. I will sell the car for $4k delivered, without the wheels, and stereo with TVs. The car will come with original wheels and good Michelin rain force tires, and a Pioneer CD player instead. JimZ - If you are still looking for a 300D-T drop me a line. I have an '85 300D-T. It does have 224K on the clock but it has a rebuilt tranny as of last spring. It had been my commuter car so mechanically it is in very good condition. It is Anthracite gray with a Palomino interior. I am 2 1/4 hrs from Philly. In-laws live there so I know the drive. Chris
